Black Desert: Dramatic Contrast Before the White Visited as a prelude to the White Desert on most Egypt desert tour itineraries, the Black Desert is defined by dark volcanic dolerite stones covering low, rolling hills. The stark colour contrast to the surrounding sand creates one of Egypt’s most striking views.
