What happens inside the Grand Egyptian Museum after the galleries close? Beginning on November 1, 2026, the museum’s Grand Hall will become the setting for Eternal Sun, a new evening experience that brings the story of ancient Egypt to life through light, music, and moving images.
As the lights fade, the huge statue of Ramses II becomes the center of the show. For 35 minutes, images move across the walls and architecture while music and storytelling take you through 5,000 years of Egyptian civilization. Instead of viewing history from behind glass, you watch it unfold around you as the museum itself becomes part of the experience.
This three-day package builds a complete Cairo journey around that special evening. See the Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum in daylight, then return after dark for the Eternal Sun Grand Egyptian Museum Tour. The journey also includes Old Cairo, connecting the age of the pharaohs with the cultures and communities that shaped the city in later centuries.
With Respect Tours, Egypt Through Local Eyes, your airport welcome, hotel stay, private transportation, Egyptologist-guided visits, entrance tickets, included lunch, and Eternal Sun ticket are arranged in advance. Our team has welcomed travellers since 1978 and takes care of the schedule, allowing you to focus on the moment when the lights come on and ancient Egypt begins to move around you.

🍽️ Meals: None 🛏️ Overnight: Cairo
After breakfast, meet your Egyptologist guide and travel to the Giza Plateau, where the three main pyramids have stood above the desert for more than 4,500 years.
Begin at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest pyramid at Giza and the last surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. Stand beside its huge limestone blocks while your guide explains what is known about its construction, the people who built it, and its place within the royal burial complex.
Continue to the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure before stopping at the panoramic viewpoint, where you can see all three pyramids together across the desert.
Next, visit the Great Sphinx, carved directly from the natural rock with the body of a lion and the head of a king. Nearby, enter the Valley Temple, built with massive stone blocks and once connected to Khafre’s pyramid by a long ceremonial path.
Enjoy lunch at a selected local restaurant, with pyramid views subject to availability, before continuing to the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Inside the museum, the story moves from the huge monuments of Giza to the objects connected with the people who built, ruled, worked, worshipped, and lived in ancient Egypt. Explore the main galleries, the complete Tutankhamun collection, the Grand Staircase, and the Khufu’s Boats Museum. Your Egyptologist will connect these objects with the beliefs, skills, and people behind the sites you visited that morning.
As daylight fades and the galleries close, the atmosphere inside the museum begins to change. Make your way to the Grand Hall for Eternal Sun, where the colossal statue of Ramses II stands at the center of the experience.
For approximately 35 minutes, light and moving images travel across the architecture while music and storytelling fill the hall. Scenes from thousands of years of Egyptian history appear around you, turning the same space you explored during the day into a stage after dark.
After the Eternal Sun Grand Egyptian Museum Tour, meet your driver and return to the hotel for the night.
The showtime and order of the museum visit may be adjusted according to the official Eternal Sun schedule and ticket availability. The experience currently operates every evening except Wednesdays and Saturdays.
🍽️ Meals: Breakfast and lunch 🛏️ Overnight: Cairo
Today’s sightseeing will be arranged around your confirmed flight time. Your guide will select and organize the visits from the program below according to the time available before taking you directly to Cairo International Airport.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and meet your Egyptologist guide to discover Cairo’s Coptic and Islamic heritage.
Begin in Old Cairo, where Roman walls, historic churches, and narrow streets reflect the communities that shaped the city long after the age of the pharaohs.
Visit the Hanging Church, one of Egypt’s best-known Coptic Christian landmarks. The church was built above the gatehouse of the Roman fortress of Babylon. Its name comes from this raised position rather than from anything hanging inside. Walk through the church’s quiet interior while your guide explains its importance to Egypt’s Coptic Christian community and points out its wooden details, icons, and historic features.
Continue to the Ben Ezra Synagogue, an important part of Egypt’s Jewish heritage. Your guide will explain the history of the building and the communities that once lived and worshipped in this part of Cairo.
Walk through the surrounding streets to see how churches, old walls, local homes, and small shops stand close together. The area offers a more personal view of Cairo, where different periods and faiths remain visible within the same neighborhood.
Continue to the Citadel of Saladin, built above Cairo during the 12th century. From its elevated position, look across the city before entering the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, known for its large central dome, tall minarets, and open courtyard.
After the tour, travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo International Airport. Respect Tours will arrange the transfer around your confirmed flight time, marking the end of your three-day Cairo experience.
The sightseeing program on the final day depends on your departure time, site opening hours, and access arrangements.
