Join us for the 7-Day Solar Eclipse Egypt Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor 2027, combining a Nile journey, guided visits, the total solar eclipse in Luxor, and time to relax by the Red Sea.
Spend three nights cruising from Aswan to Luxor, with visits to Abu Simbel, Philae Temple, a Nubian village, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak, and Luxor Temple. Between the visits, enjoy life onboard and watch the farms, villages, and desert along the riverbanks.
The main event takes place on August 2, 2027. Luxor will be within the path of totality, where the Moon will completely cover the Sun for more than six minutes. Seeing daylight briefly turn to darkness above this historic part of Egypt will be a moment few travelers ever experience.
The program also includes two full days in Hurghada, giving you time to relax on the beach, swim in the Red Sea, or enjoy the hotel at your own pace. It is the perfect way to complete your Egypt experience by combining the Nile, ancient history, and seaside relaxation in one memorable journey.

Welcome to Aswan, the beautiful southern gateway of Egypt. When you arrive at Aswan Airport, a friendly Respect Tours representative will meet you, help with your luggage, and take you to your Nile cruise ship.
At the cruise, the team will help with check-in and take your luggage to your cabin. Once you are settled, enjoy lunch onboard and meet your Egyptologist guide before beginning your first visits in Aswan.
Take a short motorboat ride to Philae Temple, built on an island and dedicated to the goddess Isis. Walk through its courtyards and halls, see the carved scenes covering its walls, and learn how the entire temple was moved stone by stone to protect it from the rising waters of the Nile.
Later, continue by boat to a Nubian village, where brightly painted houses line the narrow streets. Spend time walking around the village, meeting local people, and learning about Nubian traditions, language, and daily life in southern Egypt.
Return to the cruise for dinner and your first night onboard in Aswan.

Today begins early with a packed breakfast and a drive through the desert to Abu Simbel, close to Egypt’s southern border.
On arrival, you will see the four giant statues of Ramesses II seated at the entrance to the Great Temple. Inside, your guide will explain the carved battle scenes, religious stories, and how the temple’s design used sunlight. You will also visit the nearby Temple of Hathor, built for Queen Nefertari and known for showing the queen at almost the same height as the king.
The temples you see today are not standing in their original location. During the 1960s, they were carefully cut into large sections and rebuilt on higher ground to protect them from the waters of Lake Nasser.
Return to Aswan and rejoin the Nile Cruise for lunch as the ship begins sailing north. Later, stop at Kom Ombo Temple, built beside the Nile and shared by two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. Its matching halls, courts, and sanctuaries make it different from any other temple in Egypt.
Return to the cruise for dinner and continue sailing toward Edfu.

Enjoy breakfast onboard before setting out to visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. Much of the temple remained protected beneath sand and later buildings for centuries, which helped preserve its walls, halls, and inscriptions.
Walk through the tall entrance pylons and open courtyard, where a granite statue of Horus still stands. Inside, your guide will explain the story of the struggle between Horus and Seth and show you how each part of the temple was used during daily rituals and religious festivals.
Return to the cruise and enjoy lunch as you continue sailing toward Luxor. Watch the riverbanks along the way and take some time to rest before the afternoon visits.
In Luxor, explore Karnak Temple, a large complex built and expanded by generations of pharaohs. Walk through the Great Hypostyle Hall, where 134 stone columns rise above you, and see obelisks, courtyards, statues, and walls covered with royal and religious scenes.
Continue to Luxor Temple, built mainly by Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramesses II. At the entrance, see the seated statues of Ramesses II and the start of the Avenue of Sphinxes that once connected Luxor Temple with Karnak.
Return to the cruise for dinner and a quiet evening onboard. Rest well before tomorrow’s early start and the total solar eclipse in Luxor.

This is the day you’ve been waiting for, a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the Total Solar Eclipse of 2027 in the heart of ancient Egypt.
Your day begins before sunrise with a hot air balloon ride over Luxor’s West Bank. From above, see the Nile, green fields, desert cliffs, and ancient temples as the morning light spreads across Luxor.
After landing, return to the Nile Cruise for breakfast, collect your luggage, and check out. Then meet your Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the West Bank.
Visit the Valley of the Kings, where Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs were buried in tombs cut deep into the desert hills. Enter selected tombs and see walls covered with scenes created to guide the kings through the afterlife, with some colors still visible after thousands of years.
Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, built in wide terraces against the limestone cliffs. Learn how Hatshepsut became one of ancient Egypt’s most successful rulers and how the temple recorded her royal story, religious ceremonies, and trading expedition to Punt.
Later, continue to the arranged viewing area for the 2027 total solar eclipse. Follow the safety instructions and wear certified eclipse glasses during the partial phases. During totality, the Moon will completely cover the Sun for more than six minutes, changing the daylight and revealing the solar corona around the dark Moon.
After the eclipse, travel by private vehicle to Hurghada. Check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner, and rest after a full day in Luxor.

The group will watch the eclipse from an arranged viewing area in Luxor. The final location and schedule will be shared closer to the date, based on access, safety requirements, and local arrangements.
August in Upper Egypt is very hot. Pack light, breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, swimwear, and any personal medication. Keep your passport with you for cruise check-in, hotel registration, and the domestic flight.
