Itinerary

Your trip to Mount Sinai from Dahab begins with a late-night departure and a comfortable pickup from your hotel. As the stars light the way, you’ll journey across the silent Sinai desert toward one of the most sacred mountains in the world.

Upon arrival, begin your guided hike up Mount Sinai. Choose between the gentler Camel Path or the steeper Steps of Repentance, with your guide leading the way. After a 2–3 hour ascent, you’ll arrive at the summit just in time to witness a breathtaking sunrise, a moment of stillness, beauty, and spiritual reflection.

After taking in the view, descend the mountain and visit the historic St. Catherine’s Monastery, one of the world’s oldest Christian landmarks, nestled in the heart of the Sinai Mountains.

You’ll then return to Dahab in the late morning, carrying with you the silence, light, and soul of Sinai.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, camels are available for hire for most of the trail (excluding the final steps), making the ascent easier if preferred.

The Camel Path is longer but more gradual, making it easier. The Steps of Repentance are shorter but steeper, carved from stone, and more physically demanding.

It can get very cold at night and early morning, especially between October and March. Dressing in layers is essential.
