After breakfast, your guide will lead you into the spiritual heart of Islamic Cairo. Begin at the Citadel of Salah El-Din, a big fortress that sits high above the city. Inside, you’ll visit the Mosque of Mohamed Ali, where the shiny lights and tall domes make you feel like you’re in a fairy tale.
Continue your journey through Islamic Cairo with visits to two of the city's most famous mosques: the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, a masterpiece of Mamluk architecture, and the Al-Rifa’i Mosque, the final resting place of Egypt’s last royal family.
In the afternoon, explore the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Wander its colorful alleys, shop for spices and handmade crafts, or sip mint tea at an old café where Cairo’s soul comes alive.

Next, explore the Qaitbey Fortress, built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Feel the sea breeze and take in the views from the fortress walls.
