Here, you’ll walk around the three main pyramids, Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, and stand before the Great Sphinx, one of the most recognized symbols of ancient Egypt. No one knows for certain why its nose is missing, which adds to the mystery surrounding the monument. Your guide will explain how these structures were built and why they remain central to Egypt’s history.

From there, continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization. One of its highlights is the full collection of King Tutankhamun, displayed together for the first time in history. Massive statues welcome you at the entrance, and the layout makes it easy to move through 5,000 years of Egyptian history step by step.

After breakfast, begin your day at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). Here, you don’t just see ancient artifacts, you follow Egypt’s timeline from prehistoric life to the modern state. The Royal Mummies Hall is one of the most striking experiences, where powerful rulers from over 3,000 years ago are preserved in a quiet, carefully designed space.

Next, visit the Citadel of Saladin, built in 1176 as a military fortress. It served as the seat of power in Egypt for nearly 700 years. From the courtyard of the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, you can enjoy panoramic views of Cairo stretching in every direction.

Continue to Sultan Hassan Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world. Built in the 14th century, its scale, height, and balanced design still impress visitors today, reflecting the ambition of Cairo during the Mamluk era. It remains one of the city’s architectural masterpieces.

After lunch, walk through Khan El-Khalili Bazaar. This market has been active for more than 600 years. Narrow lanes, traditional shops, handmade crafts, and historic coffeehouses create an atmosphere that feels both lively and timeless.

After breakfast, you leave Cairo behind and begin the three-hour drive north to Alexandria, the Mediterranean city founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC. Unlike Cairo, Alexandria has a different rhythm, open sea views, fresh coastal air, and a strong Greco-Roman influence that still shapes its character today.

Your first stop is the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, one of the most unusual burial sites in Egypt. Here, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman styles blend in one underground complex, reflecting Alexandria’s multicultural past.

Next, visit Pompey’s Pillar, a massive granite column carved from a single block of stone and standing over 25 meters high. It remains a powerful reminder of the city’s importance during the Roman era.

Continue to Qaitbay Citadel, built in the 15th century on the exact site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. From here, you can enjoy wide sea views and the fresh Mediterranean breeze.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The modern library was built to honor the spirit of the ancient Library of Alexandria, once the greatest center of knowledge in the ancient world.

In the late afternoon, return to Cairo for an overnight.

After breakfast, you leave Cairo for a full-day trip to Fayoum, about 1.5 hours southwest of the capital. This region feels completely different, with wide desert views, quiet lakes, and open landscapes.

Your first stop is Wadi El Rayan, known for its natural waterfalls, the only waterfalls in Egypt. The area is also home to two large desert lakes surrounded by dunes, creating a striking contrast between water and desert.

Continue to the famous Magic Lake, known for how its colors change throughout the day depending on sunlight and wind. The surrounding dunes are ideal for optional sandboarding, adding a bit of fun to the experience.

The highlight of the day is Wadi El Hitan (Valley of the Whales), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll see whale fossils that are over 40 million years old, proof that this desert was once covered by an ancient sea. Fossilized whale skeletons remain preserved in the sand, offering clear evidence of how nature transformed this land over time.

After exploring Fayoum’s natural wonders, return to Cairo in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, you check out of your hotel and transfer to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Aswan. In about 1.5 hours, the scenery changes from the busy capital to the calm beauty of Upper Egypt.

Upon arrival in Aswan, you meet your guide and begin exploring this peaceful city on the Nile.

Start with the Aswan High Dam, one of Egypt’s most important modern projects. Built in the 1960s, it controls the flow of the Nile and created Lake Nasser, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.

Next, visit the Unfinished Obelisk, still lying in its original granite quarry. If completed, it would have been the largest obelisk ever built. The site gives you a clear idea of how the ancient Egyptians carved and transported massive stone monuments.

Continue to the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. The temple was carefully relocated to Agilkia Island to save it from flooding after the construction of the High Dam. You reach it by motorboat, and as you approach, the temple appears to rise from the water, one of the most scenic views along the Nile.

After the visits, transfer to your hotel in Aswan for check-in. The rest of the evening is free to relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere of this southern city.

Early in the morning, you travel south from Aswan to Abu Simbel, located near the Sudanese border. The drive takes about 3 hours through the desert, but the destination is worth it.

When you arrive, the first thing you see are the four colossal statues of Ramses II, each carved directly into the mountain over 3,000 years ago. These statues were not only built to impress visitors, but they were also meant to show Egypt’s strength to anyone entering from the south.

Next to the main temple stands the smaller temple of Queen Nefertari, dedicated to Ramses II’s wife and the goddess Hathor, one of the few temples in Egypt built to honor a queen.

After exploring the site, return to Aswan in the afternoon. The evening is free to relax by the Nile and enjoy your final evening in Aswan.
